Innisfree Lip Tint Mousse Review and Swatches ( #3 | #4 | #6 )

Korean cosmetics have really been coming up with a lot of good stuff and one of my favourite korean cosmetic brand is Innisfree. They pride themselves with beauty products and makeups with natural ingredients and no parabens and my sensitive skin doesn’t breakout on their products. They have a wide variety of products and today what I’m going to review is their Lip Tint Mousse.

These lip tint mousse is the korean version of lip creams. Korean cosmetics are known for lip tints and I think that is one thing that they have mastered. Most asians love that subtle makeup look even on lips and this product is perfect for that gradient lip or the full intense lip color. This products smells really nice and the creamy texture makes it easy to apply on the lips. It glides pretty smoothly and dries fast. They only have few colour selection and most of the shades are very vibrant. The colours I purchased are shade 3, 4 and 6 and below are the swatches.

GOOD: Although this is like lip creams these are still lip tints so you get a little bit of both which is a very good thing. Some lip tints are watery and some are gel or milky type but this lip cream type is really a good idea. It leaves pigments on your lips even after you eat or drink but may need to re-apply for oily foods.

BAD: The colour selections are limited and most of the shades are pretty close to each other so there’s not much variation. So for people who like to hoard and buy all the shades and have a tight budget, I suggest you just select those that you really like because the shades are pretty much the same anyway.

VERDICT: I’d give this a thumbs up for the pigmentation and getting that lip cream texture yet have that lip tint idea. The price is also reasonable which easy on the pocket for a makeup junkie like me!

Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense Lipsticks Swatches and Review (Mat 3 | 19 | 20 | 21 | 25 | 35)

Any makeup junkie will never get enough of just one lipstick. The more lipsticks we have the happier we are.  All makeup addicts will agree with me on this. And because of that I am reviewing a few MUFE lipsticks I just added in my collection.

After going thru the course in Makeup Forever Academy I just fell in love with their products. And because I am building up my makeups for my clients I bought these 6 shades of the Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense Lipsticks. A tip to those who wants to buy MUFE lipsticks: there is a Rouge Artist Natural range which is different than the intense range. The Natural range has a sheer coverage and the lipstick code numbers have an N at the beginning of each number. The Intense range is much pigmented and gives you that intense lip color. Below are the swatches of what I have purchased:

GOOD: All of their Intense lipsticks are very pigmented. All are moisturizing except the Mat 3 shade but it understandable since it’s meant to be matte finish. They are long lasting as well and the smell is not bad.

BAD: I don’t think there is something bad about these lipsticks but it could just be me.

VERDICT: I would say that MAC lipsticks are still better with their wide range of colors and the texture of their lipstick but I think this is still a good investment. It can still compete with MAC lipsticks but for me this is still a good addition to any makeup artist’s stash.

3 Concepte Eyes (3CE) Cosmetics Review and Swatches

My new makeup addiction is the famous Korean cosmetics, 3 Concept Eyes also known as 3CE. I have heard about this product for a while now but it took me awhile to finally jump into the bandwagon and when I finally did look how much I got:

There's no regret at all and I still want more! (sigh...makeup problems) Anyway I want to share with you my thoughts and also swatches of the products to give you a better idea of how good or bad they are.

LIPSTICKS (Come to Me | Scandal | Lala | Baaa | Celebrity)

I got 5 lipsticks with shades of the same Orange/Tangerine range. It is the "In-thing" in makeup nowadays and I am obsessed with it.

Good: They are highly pigmented and so moisturizing. It easily glides on your lips when you swipe it and the colours are just simply amazing! Most especially if you're into the Korean type of lip makeup then this is the right product for you.

Bad: It's not long lasting. After you eat and wipe your lips with tissue, it's gone. You have to do touchups every single time.

Verdict: It's good to have in your makeup stash but it's not your go to lipsticks when you have events or parties. These lipsticks actually reminds me of the Nyx Round Lipsticks. It's very pigmented and moisturizing but not long lasting.

LIP LACQUER (Showtime | xx Orange)

Good: Just like their lispsticks, it is very pigmented and the colors are very vibrant. It dries easily after application but does not leave your lips dry. This is perfect for the famous Korean Lip Trend using a nude lipstick all over the lip and this at the center of the lips.

Bad: It's not long lasting but better than the lipsticks.

Verdict: These reminds me of  Lime Crime's Velvetines liquid lipstick but I actually prefer this product more than the Velvetines because of the color selection that they have and the texture of the product. It may not be as long lasting as how we want it to be but it is really not that bad. Just as long as you don't eat oily stuffs and keep on wiping your lips, it'll last long enough 'til your next touchup.

LIP PIGMENT (Issue)

Good: Good color pigmentation and can mix with other Lip pigment color to achieve a different shade. The texture is cream and dries up as a matte.

Bad: The only bad about this is that you have to have a lip brush. You can dab it with your fingers but it's just gonna stain your fingers a bit.

Verdict:  I love this product and the fact that you can mix this with other lip colors to get new shades is an added plus. The texture of the product is wonderful, it feels matte but not really which is just like my ever favorite Nyx Matte lip cream.

DUO COLOR FACE BLUSH (Peach Crush)

Good: The texture is so smooth and fine and the color is amazing as well.

Bad: Doesn't last long. Just a swipe of tissue on your face then all the product goes straight to the tissue.

Verdict: I really love their colors most especially this shade. The color is just very suitable for korean type of makeup but I couldn't trust it staying on my face all day.

I would say that their products are good to try. It's not the makeup that professionals will use since most client's would prefer the lasting effect but there is a potential to it. Their color selections are really impressive most especially for the highly sought after "Korean style makeup". But I think this is just suitable for everyday use and for someone who is not lazy for touchups. But nevertheless, these products is something worth to try and I'm loving it.

Makeup Forever Academy Experience

It has been a dream of mine to study professional makeup artistry but I have set it aside thinking that it is just something that'll pass. Almost 5 years has passed and the passion and the eagerness to learn is still there so I finally decided to take up the 1st Module in the Makeup Forever Academy here in Singapore and so far I am having the greatest time of my life. I get to practice my skills with a professional actually checking and looking at my work. It is really different when you learn it from a Pro and start from the basics. I am also one of those people who watches youtube tutorials to learn different types of makeup, and I have proven that it is still different when you are doing it in somebody else's face and not yours.

The module 1 course includes a few basic brushes, loose powders, correctors, sculpting kit, lip palettes, mascara, eye base, eyeliner, lip liner, brush cleaner, and a brush holder. Below is the photo of the place and the student kit included:

I have been taking up the class in part time (6:30-9:30 pm) and so far I am having so much fun. It's been awhile since I felt so eager to learn something. I still have 2 more weeks to go and I'm finally graduating but it doesn't mean that I should stop there. But for the mean time this will be it for this year. To end my entry, below are some of the before and after photos of my models during my classes. And for anyone out there who wants to learn makeup, go for it! It doesn't mean that you need to be a makeup artist right after. You can just take up the class and see whether that is what you want. It's never too late to learn new stuff. :)

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blushes Review and Swatches (Blissful | Exposed | Treasured)

Everyone has been raving about these blushes and I knew that I have to get my hands on it. I purchased these when Tarte was still not available in Sephora Singapore. I bought it online in their website and I was struggling to pick the colors that I will purchase cause I can't afford all the shades even if I want to. It took me weeks to finally cut down my choices into 2 and bought the Holiday 2013 set which contains 3 different shades of blushes but I gave the other 2 to my sisters so I wasn't able to swatch them.

I must say, they are indeed long lasting and the pigments are simply awesome. I love how natural they look even though in the actual palette they look so vibrant. My favorite among them is Exposed. The old rose color makes it so different among the rest and if you want a change in blush color. Blissful was okay. It is the typical pinky blush shade that everyone goes for blushes which is by default a likeable color. Treasured, on the other hand, is a nice peachy blush with a slight shimmer which is a nice new shade to try.

All 3 for me are good choices but I still wanted to try the rest of the blush line. -_- Maybe soon but at the moment, I'm totally happy with these products! Worth the purchase!

Nyx Cream Blush Review and Swatches (Natural | Boho Chic | Tickeled)

In makeup, blush is always a girl’s best friend, well for me that is. I can’t go out without putting any blushes because I will definitely look very pale. Blushes alone can make girls extra pretty even without all the eye makeup. I have always been using a cheek tint for my everyday blush. Sometimes I use powder blushes, but for long lasting pigment I have always use cheek tints. But sometimes when you have extremely dry skin you can’t use both powder and cheek tints so I tried to find an alternative. At first I was hesitant to try cream blushes because I know that my face would react to the oil of the product, but I tried it anyway. I tried the Nyx Cream Blush which a lot of people have been raving about. It is the perfect blush for those people who are always on the go. They are so easy to use and it is very pigmented. Just a one swipe or tap in your cheeks and you get that healthy looking skin. It might just look a bit oily on the face because of its creamy texture but you can always set it with loose powder. The holding power is not very strong like the others but it’s good enough for everyday makeup and for the price. Totally worth the buy.

Nyx Xtreme Lip Cream Review and Swatches (Strawberry Jam | Buttery Nude | Bonfire)

Another lip product that I wanna share is the Xtreme Lipcream from Nyx. I only have 3 shades since I am not a big fan unlike the Nyx Matte Lipcreams.

When I first searched about the Matte Lipcreams, this also popped up in my search but after a few reads I found out that this is different. And out of curiosity, I bought these 3 shades. In my mind is that if the Matte Lipcreams are great then definitely this will be twice as great as it is. Well…it wasn’t what I expected but it is still okay just not really my type of lipstick. It’s actually a LIPGLOSS + LIPCREAM combined. And because I am not a big fan of lip gloss, I never raved about this product. But since this product is very pigmented I still kept it in my stash. But whenever I am wearing it, I definitely will have those moments where my hair would stick to my lips. But overall, this product is okay. Not perfect but good enough if you wanna have that added gloss.

Below are the swatches of the 3 shades (Strawberry Jam | Buttery Nude | Bonfire)
