OCC Lip Tar – Trollop/Harlot/Grandma/Divine Swatches & Review

I bet most of you have heard or have seen this product before. Most makeup gurus as well as makeup enthusiasts have either posted a photo using this or have spoken about this product. Well, being a makeup enthusiast myself of course I wanted to try it out and see whether it’s a good addition to my makeup collection.

If you see some photos of this product the first thing that will capture your attention is their wide color variation. You can go from sweet pinks to bright reds or go from lime yellow to Goth black. The colors are that wild! It’s cool because you get to explore those colors that you thought would never suit you. But of course knowing myself I will always go for the safe ones. I bought four colors which are basically wearable for everyday makeup and also good for special occasions. There are a lot of colors to choose from and honestly it took me awhile before I finally decided to take these four and I’m quite happy with my selection.

This product is very pigmented that with just a small amount of product is enough for a subtle lip color and yet it’s totally buildable so you won’t have a problem getting that bold lip effect that you desire. It has that cool minty feeling when applied and the peppermint smell is not that bad. The lasting power is surprisingly good. I never expected it because the product is in liquid form, but since it dries up once applied it holds up for a period of time.

Here are the colors with their swatches:

You should try this out. It’s a good product for anyone who wants to explore on lip colors.

BareMinerals READY Foundation SPF 20

I am familiar with the BareMinerals brand for a long time now but having a very sensitive skin didn’t really gave me a lot of freedom to try different foundations. Though I’ve heard that it’s good for sensitive skin, I was still hesitant since all products works differently in every person and spending more than S$50 for something that you’re not sure of makes me think twice. But since I am a member of Sephora’s White Card here in Singapore, I get to try this product without spending a dime. One of the perks of the Sephora White Card is that you get to receive some free samples and this is one of them. It came in a small pocket size compact with magnetic lock and a small brush for application.

After getting this I was still hesitant to try it out, but after weeks of pondering I finally took the leap and since then I did not regret my decision. This is one of the best powder foundations that I have tried so far that did not break me out but instead made my skin noticeably glowing. After using this product my face was perfectly smooth like I applied a liquid foundation. The good thing about this product is that it’s buildable and long wearing but yet feels like nothing. It’s very lightweight that you don’t feel like you’re wearing any foundation at all. It’s also not like other powder foundation that leaves a powdery or cakey mark on your face. Instead it will leave your face looking dewy, fresh, or something like your face absorbed the product or your face oil blended well with the product. I don’t really know how to describe it but all I can say is that it really works for my skin and I love the outcome. Of course after seeing the result without any signs of breakouts, I purchased the full size and was happy about it.

Overall this product deserves 2-thumbs up. For it to not give me breakouts already makes it an excellent purchase BUT for it to produce a good effect on your skin is a big plus and that makes it even more of a good investment for me. It’s worth every dime!

Nyx Haul from Cherry Culture

I’ve been waiting for this package to arrive and after 3 weeks of waiting it’s finally here!

I’ve already purchased from Cherry Culture a few times and it has never failed me. You can see from the photo that they do pack your items nicely and properly and not just put bubble wrap and dump all your items in the box. I purchase most of my Nyx cosmetics from here because they have a very good price and if you chanced upon their discounts like I did then you’re lucky ‘cause you’re into a shopping spree.

While opening the box, I was so giddy and I couldn’t stop smiling. For some reason this is what it does to me whenever I get my packages from my online makeup purchases. I just couldn’t stop giggling and saying “Yeeeh, this is like makeup heaven!” I sound silly but that’s the sound of excitement of a makeup addict.

Here's what I bought:

Nyx Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Antwerp, Sao Paolo, and Istanbul (L-R)

Nyx Cream Blushes in Natural, Boho Chic, and Tickled (T-L-R)

Nyx Gel Liner, Concealers, Wonder Pencil, and Eyebrow Cake powder

Nyx Setting Spray, HD Primer, HD Foundation, and Matte Bronzer

For those of you who are looking for a good price of Nyx products, I recommend you to visit the Cherry Culture site. They ship internationally that’s why shopping with them is hassle free and their customer service is good as well.

Stay tuned for my review and swatch posts on these items soon.

Lime Crime’s Velvetines Review & Swatches ( Red Velvet | Suedeberry )

Most girls have been raving about this product from Lime Crime and I hopped into the bandwagon to try it out and see what the craze is all about.

The Lime Crime’s Velvetines liquid lipstick is very pigmented. It has that liquid-velvety feeling when applied to the lips and it dries as matte. After application, the color is smudge-proof for a certain period of time. And I love how it actually stands by its promise 'cause when I tried it the only time it slightly came off is after I ate a meal. But it still did not came off permanently, my lip still has a slight stain and left with that lip line color which was a bit irritating and I find that it's one of the downside of this product most especially if you didn't bring along the product for touch up. I actually tried rubbing it just to see if it will come off but it just smudged a bit until my lip area was red and stained. Another downside with this is that if you have dry lips then this product may not have the same smooth effect on your lips than other products. After applying, it literally dries up. Normally whenever I apply lip products I tend to glide my lips together to blend the colors, but I couldn't do the same with this product. I have to put a lip balm on top just so I can have that smooth texture.

Lime Crime's Velvetines only have 2 colors, the Suedeberry and the Red Velvet. Both of them are really great colors most especially if you’re into that bold lip colors. The Suedeberry is a peachy-coral shade while the Red Velvet is a vibrant bold RED color which is perfect for a pin-up girl look.

This product is really different from all the products that I have tried so far, and now I understand why girls really raved about this product. It's really hard not to love it because you seldom find lip products that stays long on your lips and yet gives that amazing color. For me, it’s not really for everyday makeup but it's good for special occasions most especially if you're into bold makeups. I do recommend this to those who wanna try this out especially if you are looking for a lipstick with a strong holding power. Though it only has 2 shades, I still think that it's a great addition to your makeup collection.

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Medium Ash/Medium Brown and Duality Highlighter Swatches & Review

Ever heard of people saying that perfect brows defines your face shape? Well it really does.

I am a BROW addict. I can never go out without putting makeup on my brows. Not that I have thin bald brows, I actually have full brows with some sparse areas but putting brow makeup really makes a lot of difference. Before the full-brow trend, I always thought that putting brow makeups are just for those people who have thin bald brows but apparently it’s a must makeup for everyone.

My ever first brow makeup came from this famous Korean shop. It is good for starters and I actually still use it. But then I keep on seeing all these amazing brow makeup posts from most of the makeup artist in instagram and they tagged this brand. After clicking thru, I fell in love.

Anastasia Beverly Hills’ brow products are Uhhhmazing! It took me awhile to get a hold of the product since they don’t sell it in Asia. But after awhile of drooling over most of the makeup artists’ posts, I finally have it!

To some people, they may think that this is just an ordinary brow makeup. But no they are not! After trying it, I never wanna go back to using other brands. I bought the Medium brown color, which fits most of the Asian brow color. The brush is really smooth and glides well on brows. It gives you that precise line when putting the product. The brush and the spoolie in one tool is a brilliant idea but the size of it is even more brilliant. It is handy and the length is just right. Good for travelling as well.

I bought this together with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Duality Highlighter, which is the best brow highlighter I have tried yet. This brow highlighter has 2 types from each end, one is a matte flesh highlight and the other is a pearly pink with slight shimmer. Personally I love the Matte Camille shade since it’s not that visible that you put on something on your brow bone, but for special events like parties I think the Sand Shimmer shade will be perfect. I really do recommend people to buy this. It really gives your brows that added lift.

So there it is my favorite Brow makeup yet. I give these 2 products 2 thumbs up. It doesn’t give you that thick brow look, but instead its gives you that natural-looking brows that is perfect for everyday makeup. And for everyone out there who haven’t tried putting a brow makeup, I recommend you do and trust me you will see the difference.
